WHAT IS SSF?
The Scholastic Sportsmanship Foundation (SSF) is a non-profit,
educational organization committed to the return of honor
and character on America's playing fields, positive change,
and honoring student-athletes for integrity in scholastic athletics.
SSF student-athlete membership is by invitation only. Candidates
may be nominated by an approved school official or coach and
must meet SSF member standards

VISION
To rekindle the spirit of sportsmanship and honor on the
field of competition so that today's young athletes may see
their true potential as citizens and leaders, and to build
a strong, positive image for the future of scholastic, collegiate,
and professional sports in America.
MISSION
To model, promote, and honor high standards of sportsmanship,
character, and professional conduct for young people involved
in scholastic sporting competition, both on and off the field
of play.
IDEALS
The foundation values for SSF are based upon the time-honored
ideals of Honor, Scholarship, Discipline, Respect, Teamwork,
Faith, Courage, Truth, and Loyalty.
PURPOSES
- To provide greater local and national recognition to student-athletes
who display character and sportsmanship and encourage the
practice of high standards of personal conduct, individual
responsibility, and scholarship;
- To establish a team of competent leaders from men’s
and women’s sports to serve as positive role models
for student-athletes, parents, coaches, and the scholastic
sports community;
- To provide a significant scholarship program for SSF student
members and assist them in their pursuit of educational
and career goals;
- To forge a strong, united team of concerned individuals,
schools, colleges, professional organizations, and companies
that understand the true purpose of scholastic athletics
is to develop character and leadership in young people;
- To hold events and conferences for the education and development
of student members, parents, coaches, and educators and
provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas; and
- To advance the growth and ideals of the Scholastic Sportsmanship
Foundation throughout America.
